Programs for Missouri ResidentsThe state of Missouri
provides several programsto help Missouri
residents pay for college.
The Access Missouri
Financial Assistance Programis a need-based
grant program whichdoes not need to be repaid.
eligibility is determinedby your Expected Family
Contribution (EFC)from your Free Application for
Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).Your FAFSA needs to be
on file by February 1,but no later than April 1.
The award amounts
vary and are basedon state funding
level, eligibility,and type of institution
you are attending.
The Advanced Placement
Incentive Grant programis a one-time award available
to high school students goingon to college who have taken
Advanced Placement (AP) classesin mathematics and science.
The Bright Flight Program
is a merit-based programwhich encourages highest
ranking high schoolseniors to attend
approved Missouripost-secondary schools.
The award amount varies and
is based on state fundinglevel and ACT or SAT scores.
The Kids' Chance
Program is a scholarshipfor children of parents who
either died or were seriouslyinjured in a work-related
accident which was coveredby workers' compensation.
The maximum award
for this scholarshipis the actual amount of
tuition and/or incidental feesyou are charged as
a Missouri residentfor the number of credit
hours you are enrolledin for the semester, or
the amount of tuitionthe University of Missouri
charges a Missouri residentenrolled in the same
number of credit hours,or the maximum
private scholarshipamount available through Kids'
Chance, Inc. of Missouri.
The Marguerite Ross
Barnett Programis for students who
are attending schoolwhile working part-time.
The maximum award
for this programis determined by the least
amount of the tuition chargedat the school where you
are enrolled part-timeor the rate of
tuition for part-timeat the University of
The Public Service
Officer Survivor Grantprovides tuition assistance
to certain public employeesand their families where
the employees are eitherkilled or permanently
and totallydisabled in the line of duty.
